P
roficiency Assessment of Writing support - PAWs

cover

Joe will lead teachers at the school or division level to implement a writing assessment that can be used simply to assess any piece of classroom writing. Using PAWs, teachers consider a multi-dimensional view of writing assessment and have clear indicators not only for assessment, but to lead their writing instruction and help students plan their writing. PAWs included grade-level criteria for three points of the school year developed by classroom teachers and can be tailored to school or divisional expectations or existing practice. PAWs has been implemented as a common assessment in K-6 classrooms across the Rolling River, Western, Frontier and Prairie Spirit School Divisions and six schools in five additional school divisions in Manitoba and Ontario. For further information and sample package, please contact Joe.
